BarracudaDrive Installation
The installation guide contains step by step instructions of how to configure and make the server available on the Internet.
You can run our online BarracudaDrive Installation Demo if you like to know more about how to install the server.
The Administrator Panel
The administrator panel is designed using the latest web technologies, and it looks and behaves more like a standard desktop application than a web-application. The administrator panel is loaded from the server into a browser window, where it starts executing almost like a normal desktop application. The administrator panel is powered by Bindows.
The Administrator Panel includes a User Editor that lets you easily add users to your web-server.
The Constraints Editor is where you setup rules for what part of the server your users are allowed to access. The web-application communicates with the server in real-time and lets you drag and drop directories on your hard drive into the access list.
The Application Manager lets you load, start, stop, and manage auxiliary applications. BarracudaDrive, which is a web operating system, lets you dynamically start and stop applications just like you can on Windows.
The HTTPS Tunnel and Proxy
The HTTPS Tunnel is loaded and started directly from the server. You surf to your home computer/company server when you are out traveling and simply press the tunnel button on the settings page. This loads the tunnel client from the server to the computer you are using. The tunnel is a Java program that does not need any installation. You can use the tunnel as a convenient and easy to use VPN replacement. See the HTTPS Tunnel page for more information.
Developers
You can extend the features in BarracudaDrive if you are a developer. BarracudaDrive includes the leading Bindows AJAX WEB 2.0 SDK and a powerful virtual machine in the server.
The virtual machine in the server is called Lua, a very fast and easy to learn scripting language.
