applicable to version 3.9.
Download the free BarracudaDrive 3.9 beta. It is not necessary to register when downloading the beta version as it includes a free license. The included license expires Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Consider joining our Beta Testing Program, which awards free perpetual BarracudaDrive licenses to active/helpful beta testers.
New BarracudaDrive 3.9 features:
- New Content Management System with lots of cool themes.
- Faster Electronic Bulletin Board with a new RSS feed.
- Beta version 3 includes automatic port configuration for home/business routers and a new Dynamic DNS (DDNS) update client that keeps the DNS for your domain name updated if your IP address changes.
Installation instructions for BarracudaDrive (BD) 3.9 beta:
The beta version does not include an installation
program. Installation must be done
manually.
Download and extract:
- Download the self extracting archive: BarracudaDrive.3.9beta3.exe
- Start the self extracting archive BarracudaDrive.3.9beta3.exe after the download has completed
- A pop-up window appears with the text "Unpack all files to:"
- Erase the path in the popup window and type in: c:\bd
- Press the "OK" button. The server will now unpack to c:\bd
Installing by using a DOS command window:
- Open a DOS command window as follows: Click Windows start -> run -> type in cmd -> Press enter.
- In the command window, change directory to c:\bd by typing the following command: cd c:\bd.
- Test the server by running in the console by typing the following command: bd -console. If you get any errors such as ports in use, terminate the other program using the web server port(s). For example, if you are using Skype, terminate Skype.
- When the server is running in the console without any problems, terminate the program by pressing CTRL-C.
- Install bd in the command window by typing in: bd -installauto. This will install BD as a Windows Service.
Configuring the server, after installing it:
- Open a browser on the same computer your bd server is running on and type in: http://localhost/setup/. Note that the built in administrator and configuration pages are designed for Internet Explorer and Firefox.
- Follow the configuration wizard.
